If I die today, can I say that I’ve had my fun?
Dear God, help me to keep writing and stop worrying about tomorrow,
The challenges that exist and are to come are in your control and not mine,
Forgive me, my pains and illnesses are my fault, my doubt in You marks me guilty of faithlessness,
And I deserve it all.
When You alone have carried me time and time again through every misery, every demon I faced,
You bring me through, in beautiful melodies, in your Grace and Mercy,
I am ashamed that I still stand here, in disbelief, forgive this miserable creature,
For whatever they say, I would never have been able to overcome the sorrow and shame,
Without You, my only friend in this world.
