You could never love yourself could you,

But how many dreams and fantasies,

Did you have as you wandered alone,

Your mind full of fireworks, sped up,

Through the blood red sky, touched the stars,

You cried within yourself every day,

That the joys of the world, so simple,

Could be yours, as you chased unattainable desires,

As you killed hours each night, to open your eyes, witnessing the birth of stars,

The glow as you caressed the soft light,

Trying so hard to cry diamond tears,

But shrunk away, falling hopelessly with broken elegance to the ground,

You became Carmen that day, and are Carmen now.

Dancing, singing and crying to the undying crowd.
